OLD ORCHARD BEACH — East Grand Avenue was closed from Walnut Street in Old Orchard Beach to Pine Point Road on Monday due to a water main break. The rupture occurred in the morning and was fixed late that night. Some residents in the area experienced lower water pressure while the line was being repaired. A second water main break on East Grand Avenue occurred on Tuesday morning, leaving about 30 customers on East Grand from Pine Point Road to the Old Orchard Beach line without water until the line was repaired later that day. Maine Water officials believe the ruptures were due to cold weather.
