SACO — The Dyer Library is calling all teens who are interested in working this summer.
Are you hoping to get a summer job but aren’t sure where to start? Join the library at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15 for an hour of practical information and tips on how to get a summer job.
The library’s panel of presenters will include representatives from the Thornton Career Center, Saco Parks and Rec, Fun Town/Splash Town, and Hannaford, all ready to share advice and information you need to know when applying for a job.
They will discuss what types of jobs you might qualify for, as well as what to expect in and how to prepare for an interview. Several teenagers, who have lived through the job interview process and held summer jobs, will sit on our panel to share their experiences, answer questions, and offer recommendations for how to get and keep a job.
Come prepared to ask your own questions and to gather a lot of great information on getting a summer job, including what younger teens (14- and 15-year-olds) need to do to get their work permit. And, there will be snacks.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
