BIDDEFORD — The Szanton Company held a sneak preview of its new apartment complex Thursday in a former mill at 75 Saco Falls Way.
Totaling 92,000 square feet, the new complex is slated to hold 80 new units for residents, with rents ranging from $566 to $805 for a one-bedroom apartment and $679 to $1,000 for a twobedroom, heat and hot water included.
The units will come with a variety of amenities, including a community room, community kitchen, Wi-Fi, onsite coin laundry and tenant storage, and a bike room.
A sample apartment was shown Thursday: a one-bedroom unit with a full bath, modern kitchen and carpet that retained some of the charms of the old mill.
The apartments should be finished and up for rent in August, said representatives of The Szanton Company. They expect to be at capacity within three to four months due to high interest –more than 50 people arrived in the first hour Thursday to check out the sample apartment.
Robert Bacon, a tenant of nearby apartments also run by The Szanton Company at 100 Saco Falls Way, said he loves living there, because the apartments have a river view and are well managed. The apartments have “everything we, or anyone, needs,” he said.
