Imagine you could only choose five people (dead or alive) to eat dinner with you for one night.
Would you choose to have Marilyn Monroe sit to the right of you?
Perhaps, you dream to have Biggie Smalls or Tupac sitting across from you?
If I had a choice on this matter, I would choose to sit with some of the most iconic and influential names in our world’s history. Particularly the geniuses of the music industry. Though I wish I could sit with more than five people, the following names are who I would choose to spend my time with over a peaceful dinner…
Freddie Mercury: Since I was a little girl, I have spent most of my time listening to 80’s and 90’s bands. Some of which are Aerosmith, Journey, Cheap Trick, and my personal favorite, Queen. I have always admired Mercury’s incredible vocal range and his flamboyant personality. I’m sure most of you are aware, but sadly Mercury passed away due to AIDS. If I could share dinner with him, I would ask about his lifestyle and his inspiration into creating such powerful and emotional music.
Ryan Tedder: Since 2007, the band One Republic has captured the hearts of many with their feel-good music. Frontman and lead vocalist Ryan Tedder has wrote many hit songs for both the band and for many other popular artists such as Beyoncé, Adele, and Leona Lewis. After attending a One Republic concert this past summer, Tedder has inspired me into writing my own music and yearning to start my own band someday. It would be a dream it write a song with him.
Paul McCartney: If you don’t know who the Beatles are, you have seriously been deprived as a child listening to music. George Harrison, Ringo Starr, John Lennon, and Paul McCartney formed what is known to be potentially the most influential band in music history. To this day, both McCartney’s and the Beatles’ music is something I listen to daily. I would love to talk to McCartney about what inspired him to become a musician and what it was like to work with the other members of the Beatles.
Bruno Mars: Popular singer-songwriter Bruno Mars shows a wild side to his music! When I am listening to his songs, I can’t help but a rush of excitement and a need to dance. I admire his own excitement and passion when he is performing music and I aspire to act the same way when I am performing on my own. I would choose to sit next to him over dinner because of his funny and wild personality, much like my own.
Blake Lively: Whether a female likes to admit it or not, we all have a woman crush on a celebrity. Mine happens to be the confident and beautiful Blake Lively. I admire her ability to speak out for what she believes in and her bubbly, yet mature personality. Her aura is exactly how I want to present myself both now and the future. If I had a conversation with her, I would ask for advice and how she became the person she is today.
These incredible people have all impacted my life in some way whether it be through the power of music or through their personalities. All of them make up a part of who I aspire to become someday.
That is why I would choose to share an evening over dinner with them.
Who would you choose?
