SANFORD — Goodall Library will show the new photo exhibit, “Feeding Maine: Growing Access to Good Food,” from Monday to May 28.
The show features photos by photographer Brendan Bullock accompanied by writer Annie Murphy’s captions, and highlights local food access efforts across Maine.
In conjunction with the exhibit, Maine Farmland Trust and Good Shepherd Food Bank will host a community discussion with local panelists about innovative projects that address hunger using local resources: rich farmland, skilled farmers and community support.
Panelists include Beth Della Valle, director of planning and community development for Sanford; Jack McAdam of McDougal Orchards and market master for the Sanford Farmer’s Market; Shannon Grimes, a farm viability associate of the Maine Farmland Trust; Nancy Perry, Mainers Feeding Mainers program manager of the Good Shepherd Food Bank;, and Kristine Jenkins, coalition director of Partners for a Hunger Free York County.
The event will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Louis B. Goodall Memorial Library, Sanford. Admission is free.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
