SANFORD — Police in Sanford are asking the public’s help in identifying a male suspect they believe is responsible for stealing a car from the parking lot at Cumberland Farms on Main Street on Monday evening.

Police said the vehicle reported stolen was a green 2003 Toyota Camry with a New Hampshire temporary plate bearing the numbers 2162859.

The front plate was a advertisement for Lakes Region Auto Source, police said in a social media posting.

Police are asking that those who observe the vehicle or know the suspect in the photo to contact them at 324-3644.
