East Coast meets West Coast on Saturday when the San Francisco-based Central4 piano quartet performs at the Sanford- Springvale Historical Museum. The ensemble will perform piano quartets by Spanish composer Joaquin Turina, Mozart and Gabriel Faure.

Central4 was formed six years ago and is well known on the West Coast and in Guatemala, the birthplace of pianist Timothy Durkovic, who was educated at Julliard and is an official “Steinway Artist.” The other members of the quartet are Elizabeth Hedman, violinist and associate concert master of the Santa Barbara Symphony; Paula Fehrenbach, cellist and member of the New World symphony under the baton of Michael Tilson-Thomas; and Maine native Meredith Crawford, violist and member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The quartet will also perform at the Portsmouth Athenaeum on Sunday.

The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Sanford- Springvale Historical Museum, 505 Main St., Springvale. Admission for adults and seniors is $20 and free for those 18 and under.

Tickets may be reserved by calling 324 2797, and may also be purchased in advance at the museum or at the Bradford Block Bistro, 459 Main St., Springvale.

Those who purchase their tickets in advance receive a 10 percent discount at the Bradford Block Bistro the evening of the performance. The museum is handicapped-accessible and air-conditioned.
