Dover is “delighted and honored” to be back in Maine and performing with the DaPonte again.
“A string quartet that has been together for 24 years and plays at as high a level as the DaPonte Quartet is an extremely rare find,” he said. “They have a treasure trove of experience interpreting the great masterworks of our repertoire.”
Praised by Opera News for his “exemplary playing,” Dover is the newest member of Grammy-nominated Imani Winds. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, Weill Recital Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Alice Tully Hall and the Brooklyn Academy of Music, among others.

The DaPonte String Quartet is entering its 25th year. Founded in 1991 in Philadelphia, it moved to Maine more than 20 years ago and now performs over 60 concerts a year, year round, from Presque Isle to Ogunquit.
The performance of “Clarinet Envy” will take place 7 p.m. July 14 at the Meetinghouse Museum, Historical Society of Wells and Ogunquit, 938 Post Road, Wells.
Tickets are $25 and may be purchased at the Historical Society of Wells and Ogunquit, through DaPonte.org or by calling 529-4555.
