SACO — The Chaplaincy Institute of Maine, or ChIME, ordained seven interfaith chaplains at its 13th Annual Ordination on June 5 at the First Parish UCC Church.
Kennebunk resident Carolyn Kellis was among the ordinands. Kellis has a Master’s of Divinity Degree from Bangor Theological Seminary and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from UMaine-Orono. She works as the Christian education director of the Rainbow United Methodist Church in Portland.
Kellis is the 18th York County resident to graduate from ChIME. Rev. Larry Greer of Alfred and Rev. Mary Zachary Lang of Kennebunk were in ChIME’s first graduating class in 2004.
More recent ChIME graduates from York County include Biddeford residents Catherine Anglea and Polly Nodden; Helen Rousseau, Kate Brown and Laura Knittweiss of Kennebunk; Mark Gallup and Mary Gelfand of Wells; Patty Redlon and Amy Cousins of Old Orchard Beach, Kari Pritchard of York, Arlene Carroll of Springvale and Cali Crowley of Saco.
