The couple married on May 30, 1956, at Holy Family Church in Sanford.
They are the parents of James Melanson and his partner Peter Karrospoulas of Westbrook and Elaine (Melanson) Plourde and her spouse Jonathan Plourde of Lyman, and grandparents of Shad Chistopoulos of Dover, New Hampshire.
