Kimberly Gignac of Limerick, shown here with defense counsel Joel Vincent, pled guilty Thursday to manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal accident in Sanford last year that killed Alan Morin of Steep Falls. York County Superior Court Justice G. Arthur Brennan rejected a recommended three-year sentence agreed upon by the state and defense counsel. Brennan instead said a five-year prison term would be more suitable. Gignac now has the option of agreeing with the five year term or withdrawing her plea and proceeding to trial.
