Voters in Senate District 33 are lucky this fall: They have a chance to return Andrea Boland to Augusta.
Andrea, a former state representative from Sanford, is as hardworking, passionate and committed as any lawmaker you’ll find. She’s more than this, too. Andrea is a good listener who puts the interests of constituents above all else. She’s not afraid to take on little-known issues, like the safety of our electrical grid, that put her ahead of her time and give her a chance to educate the public and other legislators.
Andrea will serve Sanford and the nearby towns of Cornish, Limerick, Newfield, Parsonsfield, Shapleigh and Waterboro well in the state Senate. She’s got my vote.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
