YORK COUNTY — Whether you’re in Old Orchard Beach or Sanford, the Kennebunks or in Waterboro, or in a community nearby, it is time to celebrate America’s birthday.

There’s a water ski show and fireworks this evening in a Sanford and a parade down the city’s Main Street on the 4th of July.

There’s a parade in Ocean Park on the 4th; a concert in Old Orchard Beach along with fireworks there and in the Kennebunks that night.

Here is a list of events, in chronological order:

July 3:

Ocean Park: Sand Sculpture Competition, 3 to 6 p.m. on the beach between Randall and Ancona Avenues.

Sanford: Music, food, games beginning at 1 p.m., at Number One Pond. Maine Attraction Water Ski Team show 6 p.m., Number One Pond. The Sanford Redskins Band are scheduled to perform 7 to 8 p.m. at Gateway Park. Fireworks, 9:15 p.m. Number One Pond.

July 4:

Ocean Park: Parade, 10 a.m.

Old Orchard Beach: Independence Day Concert with Strafford Wind Symphony, 6 to 8 p.m., Seaside Pavilion, 6th Street. Fireworks, 9:45 p.m., downtown.

Kennebunk: Fireworks, 9 p.m. Kennebunk and Kennebunkport co-host a fireworks show visible from all three beaches in Kennebunk. In the event of extreme inclement weather, the fireworks will be rescheduled to July 5.

Waterboro: Terry Hackett Memorial Boat Parade on Little Ossipee Pond at 11 a.m.
