
John was born March 8, 1934, in Brewer to James T. and Esther G. Savoy. He served in the U.S. Air Force, and lived in England for a number of years. He was married twice, and had a lifelong partner.
He was last employed at Kerryman Pub in Saco, where he enjoyed his job and made a lot of close friends.
John enjoyed watching sports and going to see local bands perform with friends. He enjoyed time with family and friends.
He is survived by: estranged family from afar; three brothers, Edwood Savoy and wife Christine of Saco, Elwood Savoy of North Carolina, and James Savoy and wife of Brewer; one sister, Eleanor Hyman of South Carolina; and many other family and friends who loved him dearly.
John will be missed and remembered forever by Kiyah Noel and Jason and Billie Gammon of Hollis, who are forever thankful for the care he received at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Scarborough.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Goodwin’s Mills Cemetery in Lyman.
