
The Mustangs jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead in the opening half. Jackie Bearse would score the first two goals in a span of two minutes, while Logan Champlin would add an unassisted goal and Emma Rutledge would score on a pass from Anna Lane.
Emma Desrochers would score Massabesic’s fifth goal a little over 10 minutes into the second half, followed by Sophia LaFrance, who would add one more. Champlin would score her second goal with 4:03 remaining to secure the win.
Massabesic goalie Madyson Pomerleau tallied four saves on the night while Windham goalie Savannah Rice recorded a whopping 18.
The Mustangs improve to 9-1-1 on the season and will host Thornton Academy next Wednesday.
Thornton Academy 7, Portland 0
The Trojans would complete the 7-0 shutout over hosting Portland Thursday afternoon.
Taylor Ouellette kicked things off with an unassisted goal at the 10:02 mark in the first. Grace Decker would later score a goal on a penalty corner, followed by a goal from Bella Robinson to extend the TA lead to 3-0 at half.
Ouellette would get on the board early in the second, while Cat Henaire would add another goal to make the score 5-0.
Robinson and Ali Ouellette would score the final two goals to complete the shutout.
Golf
Massabesic 10, Sanford 3
Caleb Roy had another impressive performance for Massabesic, shooting a match-low 43 on the day. Teammate Ethan Nugent was behind him with a 48.
Jordan D’Alessandro led the Spartans with a 44, while Cole Jones shot a 51.
Kennebunk 7.5, Biddeford 5.5
The Kennebunk golf team kept its undefeated streak alive with a tough win over Biddeford on Thursday.
Kennebunk’s Chris Grady shot a match-low score of 40, while teammates Spencer Desrochers and Owen Manahan shot 46.
Carter Burnell led the Tigers with a score of 46, while Logan Magnant shot a 49.
Boy’s Soccer
Massabesic 2, Biddeford 1
The Mustangs grinded out a tough 2-1 win over visiting Biddeford in double overtime Thursday evening.
Steven Fitzgerald would get the Mustangs on the board in the first, however Biddeford’s Matt Tardiff would even things up in the second half.
After a tough overtime, the game would go into double OT. Ethan Ouellette would break through with just over two minutes remaining to score the game-winning goal.
Volleyball
Bonny Eagle 3, Wells 0
Despite being swept by the Scots, a handful of Warriors had solid outings.
Michelle Desjardins tallied five kills and a dig, while Alyssa Loukola added an ace, eight kills and two blocks. Halee Ramsdell also recorded four kills, three blocks and four digs, while Kait Schott totaled 21 assists, and Alicia Bridges 10 digs.
