Genealogy group seeking members, meets Saturday
KENNEBUNK – The Kennebunk Free Library Genealogy Group will host Helen Shaw on Saturday at 10 a.m. Shaw, M.A., specializes in census and cemetery research. She is president of the Maine Genealogical Society and legislative liaison for the Maine Old Cemetery Association.
Genealogists interest in cemeteries derives from what they can tell about an individuals relatives. Not about those relatives personally, but about them as a part of the community in which they lived.
The Genealogy Group is open to the public and meets nine times a year. This event is free to the public, and is wheelchair accessible. The Kennebunk Free Library is located at 112 Main St. For more info, call 985-2173, or visit kennebunklibrary.org.
Autism Ride Oct. 1
