BUXTON — Responding to reports of gunfire at 47 Charles St. early Sunday morning, Buxton Police saw an open door to the home, and heard a woman screaming inside.
As it turned out, no one had been injured.
When police entered the home, they found two men and two women inside. One of the men, Micah John Ross, 28, of Buxton, had allegedly discharged a .30-30 lever action rifle from the porch of the home. Police said Ross was “extremely intoxicated” at the time.
He was charged with reckless conduct with a firearm, two counts of violating conditions of release, and failure to give his correct name and birth date to police.
Ross was taken to York County Jail. Bail was set at $6,000 cash.
Buxton Police said no officers or citizens were hurt during the incident, and they thanked the Saco Police Department for providing back-up with what they described as a potentially deadly incident.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
