AUGUSTA — Postal employees across the state will pause this weekend to join our customers in celebrating the American workforce.
More than half a million employees nationwide will take a brief rest on Monday as it prepares for the fall and holiday shipping seasons. There will be no regular delivery or collection of mail on Labor Day and our retail outlets will be closed for the day.
The postal service’s guaranteed overnight service, Priority Mail Express will be delivered on Monday and full delivery and retail operations will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 4.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
