SACO — Winnie and Dick Hanson celebrated 70 years of marriage on Oct. 2.
The couple was married in Old Orchard beach at the home of the groom, surrounded by family and friends on Oct. 2, 1948.
About 10 years later, after Dick Hanson joined the Catholic Church, the couple exchanged vows again in a ceremony at Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco.
The Hansons raised their family in Saco and continue to live there to this day.
They have five children, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of whom helped the couple enjoy their 70th wedding anniversary.
