KENNEBUNK — Donald H. Morin, 65, of Kennebunk, died Saturday at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.

He was born May 28, 1948 in St. Benoit Packington, Quebec, Canada, a son of Henri and Yvette (Beaulieu) Morin, and was educated there.

Donald worked as a lumberjack in the Canadian woods and came to Maine in 1969. He worked here for various contractors, and then, along with his sons, opened his own business, D & M Roofing and Carpentry, retiring in 2001 due to a disabling injury.

On Nov. 9, 1990, he married Patria Danis in Kennebunk.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, camping, boating, pool playing, and woodworking.

Mr. Morin was a third- and fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus Luke E. Hart Council, the Eagles Aeire No. 804, the AMVETS Post No. 1 and the Maine Veterans Alliance.

Preceding him in death were: his infant son, Henri Morin in 1969; his parents; and two brothers, Albini and Rejean Morin.

Surviving are: his wife, Patria Morin of Kennebunk; three sons, Marco Morin Sr. and his wife Carol, Carl Morin, all of Kennebunk, and Stephane Morin and his wife Jen of Colorado; one daughter, Kristen Perkins and her husband Eric of Lisbon; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; seven sisters, Lorraine Bouchard and her husband Marc, Renee, Denise, Jacqueline, Sylvie, Marie France and Marie Claire Morin, all of Canada; three brothers, Gaetan Morin and his wife Claudette, Jean Yves Morin, all of Biddeford, and Marcel Morin and his wife Reinette of Canada; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday at St. Martha’s Church of the Holy Spirit Parish in Kennebunk. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.
