CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A storm promising up to a foot of heavy snow moved quickly into northern New England on Wednesday morning, with up to 2 inches of snow falling per hour.
The snow started before sunrise Wednesday and quickly picked up in strength for the morning commute. Transportation departments in New Hampshire and Maine lowered highway speeds to 45 mph.
Many school districts and municipal offices closed for the day across the region and traffic was light. Still, police urged drivers to take precautions and go slow.
