On behalf of Literacy Volunteers of Greater Sanford, thank you very much to everyone who took part in and supported our Eighth Annual Trivia Night at the Town Club event on Friday, Jan. 13.
We had a great turnout of 110 people playing on 15 teams. Special thanks to Marcel Blouin for being our emcee, Gina and her team at Above and Beyond Catering for great food and hospitality, all the donors to the raffle and live auction, and everyone who played the trivia game with great spirit and bought raffle tickets and bid on auction items.
The event was generously sponsored by the Altrusa Club of Sanford-Springvale, the Sanford Lions Club, Creteau’s Studio, Kennebunk Savings, Moody’s Collision Centers, Rotary Club of Sanford-Springvale, and SIS Bank. Thank you one and all for helping us raise funds for our programs.
Congratulations to the winning team, “The Numbskulls”: Tracy Goodwin, Melanie Taylor, Beth Robie, Glenn Robie, Andrew Phillips and Jen Phillips.
We are extremely grateful for strong community support. Please mark your calendars and join us for next year’s Trivia Night on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
