STANDISH — For 22 years, groups of Saint Joseph’s College students have dedicated their spring break to week-long service projects. This year, more than 30 students participated in service trips.
The following local students participated: Alyssa Baldino of Biddeford, a freshman nursing student, and Nicole Porier of Sanford, a junior biology/pre-veterinary medicine student, volunteered in Philadelphia at Blessed Sarnelli Community, to assist the community center with its needs of food, clothing and warmth, as well as working with Mercy Neighborhood Ministries and Project Home.
Robert Michaud of Limington, a senior biology/pre-medicine and psychology student, volunteered in Westchester County, N.Y. to help build safe and affordable housing with Habitat for Humanity, and to continue delivering aid to victims of Hurricane Sandy.
