SCARBOROUGH — The Scarborough town council chairwoman has been charged with operating under the influence.

Scarborough Police Chief Robert Moulton confirmed today that Judith L. Roy was stopped by police on Blackpoint Road on Saturday about 10 p.m. in response to a complaint about a driver.

Moulton said Roy was taken to the police station where she was issued a summons and released.

“I can confirm that Judy was charged, but I can’t give you much more than that at this point,” Moulton said. “Judy has been very cooperative.”

Attempts to reach Roy today have been unsuccessful.
