ACTON — Kandee Weyland, 46, the estranged wife of Scott Weyland, who died in hospital Wednesday, has been charged by Maine State Police with murder in connection with his death.

Police have not disclosed how Weyland, 42, died. They have said only that he sustained severe injuries outside his home at 1079 Milton Mills Road and died at the Sanford campus of Southern Maine Health Care on Wednesday afternoon.

Maine Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said the Weylands are parents of two children, who are now staying with grandparents.

York County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the home, just four miles from the New Hampshire border, around 1 p.m. Wednesday. Maine State Police detectives arrived  mid-afternoon to  commence their investigation into the death and remained at the scene for several hours, gathering evidence and conducting interviews.
