I would like to offer my congratulations to Mr. Frank Novotny, Biddeford’s Republican Party chairman. Keep up the good work.

Old Orchard Beach Town Council is made up of four Democrats, two Republicans and one independent. The independent councilor is the only one who cares about the taxpayers; the others want your money.

Before next year’s school opening, our councilors will have to hire a school superintendent and also an assistant. Special education director, food service director and other positions will have to be filled. They will all need assistants. Your taxes will increase this year and you can bet your property taxes will increase by 2015. One of our Democratic councilors is already thinking about a new school building.

It would be cheaper to send our high school students to Thornton Academy. Students who like sports could compete in Class A sports. The high school building could be used as a senior citizens center.

Not satisfied with tax collection, our town manager is thinking about fee collections.

Nevermind “Dancing With the Stars,” think about the good and welfare of our town.
