BIDDEFORD — The Biddeford boys basketball team struggled down the stretch on Friday night as visiting Brunswick rallied for a 60-56 victory at Tiger Gym.
The visiting Dragons outscored Biddeford 13-6 in the final period to secure the road win.
Cody Saucier led the way for Biddeford with 26 points. Ashton Crowell added 12 and Carter Edgerton chipped in 11 for the Tigers, who drop to 1-4 on the season.
Finn Mitchell scored 22 points and Noah Cox had 16 points to lead Brunswick.
Thornton Academy 56, South Portland 52
The Trojans improved to 4-0 on the season with an impressive road victory on Friday night.
Payton Jones scored 16 points and Dylan Griffin added 12 to lead Thornton Academy.
Kobe Gaudette finished with 10 points in the win.
Pamba Pamba led South Portland with 19 points.
Girls Basketball
Wells 59, Marshwood 42
Grace Ramsdell finished with 20 points and Franny Ramsdell added 15 to lead the Warriors to the win on Friday.
Wells, which improved to 4-1, also got 10 points from Mackenzie Foss.
Courtney Thim led Marshwood with 10 points.
South Portland 52, Thornton Academy 23
The visiting Red Riots held Thornton Academy in single digits in all four quarters on Friday.
Jena Leckie and Meg Whitmore each had 13 points to lead South Portland.
Penelope Giorgi led Thornton Academy with six points.
