YARMOUTH — The road through the Western Class B girls lacrosse playoffs will go through Kennebunk.
The Rams (9-3) ensured that Wednesday night, when they beat Eastern Class B leader Yarmouth 8-6 in a season-ending Western Maine Conference game to clinch the top seed heading into next week’s playoffs.
With the game tied 4-4 at halftime, Kennebunk’s Haley Fecko scored early in the second half to make it 5-4 before the Clippers’ (10-2) Shannon Fallon tied it soon after.
But the Rams then took control as Jenny Bush, Carly Sandler and Kyra Schwartzman scored three unanswered goals to give Kennebunk an unassailable 8-5 lead.
Schwartzman, Bush and Olivia Sandford led the Rams with two goals apiece, while Fallon led Yarmouth with two goals.
