DANBURY, Conn. — Caden Bailey scored on a wild pitch for the only run of the game as the Sanford Mainers won their sixth in a row with a 1-0 victory over the Danbury Westerners in an NECBL baseball game shortened to five innings by rain on Monday night.

Mainers (14-8) starter Brett Adcock (2-0, 3.27 ERA) threw all five innings to pick up the win, getting nine of his 15 outs by strikeout while allowing just one hit and no walks.

Bailey reached on the lone error of the game in the fourth inning and moved to third when Stevie Berman singled with two outs. After Kendall Patrick worked a walk, Bailey came home when Danbury (5-20) starter Brian Anderson threw a wild pitch with Dan Hetzel at the plate.

It was the ninth win in the last 10 games for Sanford, which will host the Valley Blue Sox at 6:30 p.m. tonight at Goodall Park. Robert Ruse (0-2, 6.51 ERA) will get the start for the Mainers.
