WATERBORO — Police are investigating a crash that occurred Sunday night.
On Sunday around 8:30 p.m., York County Sheriff’s deputies and Waterboro Fire and Rescue responded to a one-vehicle rollover accident on Town House Road near the Webber Road intersection in Waterboro, according to a statement from York County Chief Deputy Bill King.
First responders to the scene found a heavily damaged 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck in a wooded area off the roadway, according to King. The driver, who was alone, Dana J. Allen, 49, of Waterboro, was ejected from the vehicle.
Allen was conscious and alert when rescue personnel arrived, King said. Waterboro Rescue transported him to Maine Medical Center in Portland. His condition is not known at this time.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Allen was traveling south on the Town House Road and veered off the roadway, onto the right shoulder, and it appeared he “over-corrected” and went into a skid, crossing over into the southbound lane, according to King. Allen continued crossing the southbound lane and went off the road, striking several trees and rolling over.
Speed and alcohol are possible factors in this crash, King said. The crash is under investigation by Deputy Duane Fay of the York County Sheriff’s Office.
