The Last Chance Prom will take place at the Rochambeau Club in Biddeford on Aug. 23, from 8 p.m. to midnight, to raise money for the Epilepsy Foundation. Finger foods and a cash bar will be available. Door prizes, raffles, and a 50/50 drawing will take place, with all proceeds being donated to epilepsy research in the name of Zarek Melick, a 15-year-old boy who was diagnosed with epilepsy last year and wanted to take action to fight the disease. Zarek is the son of BJ and Joe Melick, now of Colchester, Vermont but previously of Lyman. Tickets can be purchased by calling 802-825-5698. Photographers will also be on hand to snap prom pictures, for a donation, and a king and queen will be crowned. Formal dress is encouraged but not required, and prom-goers are encouraged to wear purple, as that is the epilepsy awareness color. Jon Campbell of C&C Entertainment will be DJing the event. Pictured recently is Zarek.
