AUGUSTA (AP) — The Assistant Republican Leader for the Maine House of Representatives has resigned his seat.
In a letter to Democratic House Speaker Mark Eves on Thursday, Alex Willette said he won’t have the time to properly serve his district as he turns his focus to his career.
A recent graduate of the University of Maine’s law school, Willette works as a spokesman for Republican Gov. Paul LePage’s re-election campaign.
Willette announced in May that he wasn’t going to seek re-election for his House seat.
