OGUNQUIT — A Garden Party and Benefit Art Auction will take place at the Walker Farm, 155 Ogunquit Road, on Sept. 27 from 1-5 p.m., hosted by the Walker John Family Foundation. More than 15 notable local, national and internationally known artists will be attending. All will be selling their artwork on site from 1-5 p.m. with each one contributing one piece to the auction scheduled for 4 p.m. on Saturday. A partial list includes DeWitt Hardy, Norman West, Claire Bigbee, Dennis and Aimee Perrin, and Max Clayton.
All of the money from the auction will go into the coffers of the Walker John Family Foundation, to be distributed to the three charities: the Animal Welfare Society of West Kennebunk, the Ogunquit Library and the York County Community Service Association.
Food will be donated by various local restaurants, and drink by two microbreweries and a vineyard. Lex & Joe with the Nightlifes will provide music from 2-4 p.m.
The $40 ticket price includes two drinks. Tickets are available online at walkerjohnfamilyfoundation.org or on location at PS It Matters, The Ogunquit Library and the York Thrift Store or by contacting Charlotte at 251-0446. The Walker John Family Foundation is a 501(c)3 federal tax exempt organization “dedicated to alleviating poverty, supporting the arts and education and saving the environment.” It was founded in 2001 and funded in 2007.
