SACO — Two of the most experienced local experts in preventing elderly exploitation and scam safety will present a free program at the Wardwell Home in Saco from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 11.

The program is sponsored by the Altrusa Club of Biddeford and Saco as a public service and all are welcome at the event.

Speakers will include Candice Simeoni of the Kennebunk Police Department and Linda Bridges, an internal controls specialist and security officer at Kennebunk Savings Bank.

Officer Simeoni is the founder and president of the York County Elder Abuse Task Force and recently testified to the Senate Aging Committee in Washington, D.C. at the request of Maine U.S. Sen. Susan Collins regarding phone scams that defraud the elderly. She is the administrative supervisor at the Kennebunk Police Department and has been a leader in the field for the past 15 years.

Bridges has more than 35 years of banking experience, serves on the York County Elder Abuse Task Force and is an instructor for the Center for Financial Training and Education Alliance. She also volunteers with the Southern Maine Agency on Aging for their Money Minders program.

A question and answer period will follow the presentation and light refreshments will be served.

The Altrusa Club of Biddeford and Saco encourages and provides programs of service to the local community.
