WATERVILLE (AP) — Two women wanted for questioning in connection with a stabbing in China that landed another woman in the hospital are in custody.
State police say 20-year-old Tiffany Glidden turned herself in to Waterville police on Wednesday night, while 23-year-old Carissa Butkewicz was arrested by state troopers Thursday afternoon.
Neither has been charged in the stabbing, but are being held on other charges.
The Waterville residents were wanted for questioning in connection with the stabbing Tuesday night of 24-year-old Katheryn Hopkins. She was stabbed as she sat in a vehicle.
She was taken to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta in critical condition, but is improving and was listed in fair condition on Thursday night.
Details of what led to the stabbing are unclear.
