First Parish Congregational Church, UCC, at the corner of Beach and Main streets in Saco, invites the community to a special service of comfort, healing and hope on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. In shared word and in silence, in the lighting of candles, in holy thought and common touch, participants will seek God’s comfort and healing and affirm God’s hope. All are welcome to this half-hour service.

The choirs and soloists of the Congregational Church of Wells are presenting their annual Christmas concert at the church, located at 1695 Post Road, on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 5 p.m. A program of religious, secular, traditional and modern music will be sung. A good-will offering with be taken. Refreshments and a cookie sale will follow the presentation, with proceeds going to “Project Faith.”

The Cathedral Choir, under the direction of Cathedral Musician Albert Melton and accompanied by organist Randall Mullin, will sing Choral Evensong, which is a traditional Anglican service on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 4 p.m. Largely sung, the service will include choral music by composers Martin Neary, Charles Villiers Stanford and Herbert Sumsion. This service will be held in Saint Luke’s Cathedral, located at 143 State St. in Portland. Choral Evensong marks the second Sunday in Advent.

The fifth annual Christmas Concert featuring Tim Janis at Marie Joseph Spiritual Center will be Saturday, Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. A freewill offering will be taken. RSVPs are requested by Dec. 10. To do so, call 284-5671.
