YORK — This fall, the Greater York Region Chamber of Commerce donated $2,000 to York County Community Action Corporation to go toward 2014-15 winter fuel assistance. The funds were raised through the chamber’s golf tournament in June.

Members of the chamber’s board of directors presented a check to Danielle Raitt, division manager for Energy Services at YCCAC. The funds will be earmarked for the southern Maine towns covered by the Chamber of Commerce: Eliot, Kittery, South Berwick and York. According to Raitt, the money will be dispersed as much as possible to those who need assistance most, typically for emergency situations when someone is out of fuel.

For more information about YCCAC’s fuel assistance program, contact the organization at 6 Spruce St. in Sanford by calling 324-5762.

YCCAC’s Kittery office can be reached at 439-2699.
