BIDDEFORD — Learning Resources Network, or LERN, selected Biddeford Adult Education as the top winner for its marketing among lifelong learning and continuing education providers. Biddeford Adult Education was selected from more than 140 applicants from across North America.
While many programs are cutting back on print brochures ”“ and experiencing enrollment declines ”“ this program increased brochure distribution to 22,000 homes through direct mailing rather than dropping them in the local newspaper as they had done in the past.
Biddeford’s brochure strategy worked. Revenue increased 78 percent and online registrations increased by 53 percent. Class cancellations decreased by 40 percent.
“The print brochure is still the centerpiece of marketing for the field of lifelong learning and continuing education,” said Julie Coates, Vice President for LERN Core Services. “Here is more proof.”
Biddeford Adult Education was honored during the LERN International Awards at the 2014 LERN Annual Conference, Nov. 21-23 in Orlando, Florida.
