SANFORD — Sanford Police have announced road closures for July 3 and 4 during holiday festivities.
Gowen Park Drive will be closed from Main Street to the traffic circle, and River Street to the traffic circle will be closed to through traffic, on Monday from 10 a.m. until one hour after the fireworks Monday night.
Front Street from the entrance to Lyndon Apartments to the traffic circle will be closed to through traffic from 2 p.m. to one hour after the Monday night fireworks, and Oscar Emery Drive from Acorn Street to the traffic Circle and Summer Street from Grant Street to Gowen Park Drive will also be closed during this time.
On Monday, a water ski show by The Maine Attraction will be held at 6:30 p.m. and fireworks will begin at 9 p.m. at Number One Pond.
On Tuesday, the annual July 4 parade will start at 10 a.m. in Main Street around Malcolm Avenue and continue to Gowen Park Drive.
On Tuesday, police will be closing Main Street from 10 a.m. to noon from Carver Street to Gowen Park Drive. Police will move traffic onto side streets as needed during the parade and Route 202 will be closed while the parade is going through the intersection.
