SACO — Police in Saco are searching for a suspect who robbed the Ramada Hotel on Sunday evening,
According to Saco Deputy Police Chief Jack L. Clements, officers were called to the Ramada Hotel, 352 North St. in Saco about 5:19 p.m. Sunday.
“Responding officers learned that a male subject entered the lobby area, produced a dark colored semi-automatic handgun, and demanded money,” Clements said.
He said that an undisclosed amount of money was stolen and the suspect fled out the front door of the hotel.
“An area check by Saco Police and a Portland Police Department K-9 team was unsuccessful in locating the offender,” Clements said.
The suspect is described as a white male adult, approximately 6 feet tall, having a medium build, with a short, light beard.
“The subject was last seen wearing a dark jacket, beanie hat and a backpack,” Clements said.
The Saco Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in this crime.
