KENNEBUNKPORT — The Kennebunk Kennebunkport Alumni Association held its 112th Annual Banquet at The Colony honoring scholarship recipients.

The evening began with Banquet Coordinator and host Eleanor Leech. President Rebecca Gosselin followed Leech and introduced Brenda Spulik, the Scholarship Committee Chairman.

Spulik honored scholarship recipients who later introduced themselves and discussed their plans for college.

Scholarship recipients in attendance were Gabrielle Roy, Erin Mcgaw, Kyle Emmons, Emma Stevens, Emily Hill and Nathan Mastellier. Unable to attend were Emily McPike, Hannah Thomson, Brendon Whitten and Alexis Bickford.

Among the scholarship recipients were alumni from different classes and locations. Representing the oldest class in attendance were Mrs. Ellen Spiller Fagan and Jean Spiller Perkins both from the Class of 1943.

The alumni who traveled the farthest to attend was Paula Thayer Moulton, Class of 1955, from San Francisco, Calif.

The winner of the 50/50 raffle was David Holbrook of the Class of 1953.

Past Presidents of the Alumni Association present were Eleanor Leech, Class of 1953, Nelson Wentworth, Class of 1950, Donald Cluff, Class of 1970 and Barbara Weeman Class of 1972.

In recognition of outstanding work for alumni, President Rebecca Gosselin presented the Richard Rouleau Award to Roma Hatch Pelletier, Class of 1966.

A slate of new officers was presented and unanimously voted in to complete the banquet.

The next banquet will be held Friday, June 15, 2018 at The Colony.

In the meantime, alumni are sponsoring a play at The Hackmatack Playhouse in North Berwick on Thursday, Aug. 10 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be ordered from Barbara Weeman at 985-2272 or Brenda Spulick at 710-7516. A bus will be leaving Kennebunk Elementary School at 6:30 p.m. for those who do not want to drive.

All proceeds from this project go to the Scholarship Fund.
