York County will participate in the Point in Time survey, counting the numbers of homeless people countywide, in two locations today, starting at about 4 p.m. and continuing on until 7 p.m.
The survey, proponents say, is important in order to be able to draw down federal funding to help agencies provide services for those without a permanent roof over their heads. Everyone who is homeless is asked to stop by and be counted.
Two sites in York County will be set up for the count. And they’ll be offering hot pizza, fleece jackets and other items to help homeless folks warm up a bit.
To be counted:
Ӣ In Biddeford, the Point in Time survey will be conducted at Seeds of Hope Neighborhood Center, 35 South St.
Ӣ In Sanford, the Point in Time survey will be conducted in a mobile van in the parking lot of Napa Auto Parts, at the corner of Main and Elm streets in downtown Sanford.
