GRAY — Host Gray-New Gloucester jumped out to a 15-3 lead after one quarter, but Kennebunk rallied to tie the game at halftime and hung on at the end for a 49-44 victory in a WMC boys basketball game Saturday afternoon.
Travon Bradford scored 10 of his 12 points in the first half to keep the Rams (5-11) afloat and kickstart the comeback from a 15-point deficit early in the second quarter.
Zach MacKinnon drained a 3-pointer with just over a minute left in the first half to give the Rams a 19-18 lead, but the Patriots (8-8) tied it going into halftime on a free throw by Tyler St. Pierre.
MacKinnon and Justin Wiggins combined to go 9-10 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter as the Rams came out on top at the end of a back-and-forth second half. The Kennebunk lead was just 41-40 with one minute left in the game.
MacKinnon led all scorers with 18 points, including three 3-pointers, while Bradford and Jack Lapham each had 12 points and nine rebounds.
Andreas Kariotis led the Patriots with 13 points, and St. Pierre finished with 10.
OLD ORCHARD BEACH 52, HYDE 38
OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Bryan Roberts recorded a double-double, with 13 points and 11 rebounds, as host Old Orchard Beach topped Hyde 52-38 in a Western Maine boys basketball game Saturday.
Zach Hirst and Erik Hogan pitched in with 12 and 10 points, respectively, for the Seagulls (9-7).
Antoine Montgomery led the Phoenix (13-2) with 14 points, while Andrew Palermo added 12.

THORNTON 57, MASSABESIC 16
SACO — Thornton Academy held visiting Massabesic to five field goals for the game as the Trojans rolled to a 57-16 victory in an SMAA girls basketball game Saturday afternoon.
Ashley Howe paced the Trojans (14-2) offense, as she poured in 14 points ”“ 10 came during a 20-point third quarter for Thornton. Katie McCrum added 11.
Madi Drain led the Mustangs (1-13) with 10 points.
Boys Hockey
MASSABESIC/BONNY EAGLE/OLD ORCHARD BEACH 5, YORK 5, OT
GORHAM — Jake Maloney scored a power play goal late in the third period as host Massabesic/Bonny Eagle/Old Orchard Beach tied York 5-5 in a Western Maine boys hockey game at USM Ice Arena Saturday.
Maloney’s game-tying goal completed a third period that started with the score tied 3-3, only to see the Wildcats (8-3-1) go up by a pair of goals before MOB (4-8-2) stormed back.
Tanner McClure scored a pair of goals and assisted on another for MOB, while Cam Roy and Kyle Whitman also tallied goals.
Dillon Goslin, Adam Jannetti, Tommy Carr, Spencer Pickett and Derek Neal all scored for York.
Matt Bridges stopped 33 of 38 shots for MOB, while Keenan Gamache and Eric Lindbom combined to make 24 saves for the Wildcats.
