Maine Winter Classic set for Saturday
The state’s best senior high school hockey players will strap on their skates one more time this season Saturday night, as they face off in the second annual Maine Winter Classic at Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn.
There will be two East vs. West format games, for both Class A and Class B, with all proceeds going to the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital.
The Class A game is set for 7 p.m., with the Class B game to follow at 9 p.m.
Local stars on the Class A West team are: Biddeford’s Tyler Bellerose, Evan Loignon and Brandon Daigle; Thornton Academy’s Eric Profenno and Hunter Ebling; Massabesic/Bonny Eagle/Old Orchard Beach’s Kyle Whitman and Justin Miles; and Noble/Wells’ Dean Pratt, Ryan Marsh and Wyatt Ricker.
Kennebunk’s Dave Parker, Jack Graydon, Jan Rutrle and Mike LeBlanc were all picked to represent Class B West.
McCourty to appear at new Bob’s Store
On Sunday, March 22, Bob’s Stores will host a Grand Opening for its first store in Maine in South Portland with New England Patriots safety Devin McCourty.
McCourty will be signing autographs from 4-6 p.m. at the new location, which is located at 301 Maine Mall Road, next to Toys “R” Us.
