Editor,
Last week the media and the politicians were happy to report how the Biddeford Municipal Airport would receive $7.5 million dollars for improvements.
What they failed to point out is that since the FAA pays for only 90 percent of the expenses and the city and the state will each have to kick in $416,666. I am sure that people who have attended the budget hearings were thrilled to see how we can spend so freely on an entity that is used more by people from out of the city than within.
This outrageous waste of money will continue to get worse if the City Council doesn’t put a stop to it.
There is an Airport Master Plan being considered to spend more even though there is nothing to indicate how it helps Biddeford.
