BIDDEFORD – Chantelle Bouchard drove in runs on a home run in the second and a double in the third to lead the Biddeford softball team to an 11-7 victory over Gorham on Thursday night.
Neither team had an issue with hitting the ball – Biddeford collected 11 hits and Gorham had nine.

“The girls came through with timely hits,” said Biddeford coach Mike Fecteau. “The girls are starting to play with a little more confidence. It’s somebody different every game that’s contributing towards the hitting.”
Gorham opened the scoring in the first. Morgan Roast singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run for the Rams.
Biddeford took the lead in the second when Bouchard drilled a homer that scored Renee Dutremble and Olivia Whittaker.
During the third, the Rams rallied to tie the game 3-3 after Emma Shields knocked in Lydia Drew and Morgan Roast.
Biddeford answered by scoring six runs in the third inning. Matteau singled, scoring three runs, Gorham’s Riley Grant induced Whittaker to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run was scored, Bouchard doubled, scoring one run, and Makayla Jean-Paul singled, scoring one run to produce a 9-3 score.
The Rams would score one run in the fourth after Roast knocked in Molly Murray.
In the sixth inning, Hannah Gosselin would drive Chantel Perreault and Anna Lavigne across home plate to secure the win for the Tigers.
Gorham tried to rally in the seventh inning with three runs. Shields, Ambrosia Moore and Sarah Juskiewicz sent runners to across the plate with RBIs to create the final 11-7 score.
Matteau took the win for the Tigers. The senior surrendered three runs on five hits over four innings, striking out five. Cori Cote entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Grant took the loss for Gorham.
“We’re playing pretty good right now but there’s still a lot of softball left,” said Fecteau. “We’re working on getting better every day.”
