KENNEBUNK — Staffers at Atria Senior Living stand with everyone suffering through the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.
Atria operates in 14 communities in Texas, with five in the Houston area and one in nearby Beaumont. Three Atria communities evacuated to safety in hotels in north Houston and Tyler, Texas before the storms hit.
Now many of our 350-plus employees in the Texas area are displaced and navigating through very difficult circumstances.
Here’s how you can help.
Atria is hosting Fundraising Cookouts at our communities throughout the country on Wednesday, Sept. 6 to raise money for Atria Cares, a nonprofit organization that provides emergency financial assistance – not loans – to Atria staff in need.
The funds raised on Sept. 6 will be in addition to a sizable contribution Atria has already made to the nonprofit employee assistance organization.
We are asking for your help by donating food, beverages and supplies to the buildings your company supports.
Atria is very proud of its employees, who have been working tirelessly, away from their own families, to care for our residents during this storm.
Please contact Atria Kennebunk at 985-5866 if you would like to donate and we will see you at our Texas Barbecue on Sept. 6 at 1 Penny Lane in Kennebunk.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
