
BIDDEFORD — Motorists planning on using the Maine Turnpike this week should be aware of several construction projects that could slow their commute.
The Maine Turnpike Authority advises that some lane closures may change because of weather conditions or other unanticipated events. They suggest visiting www.maineturnpikeauthority.com for the most current and updated travel advisories.
Construction work will at Exit 36 in Saco continues Monday and will include westbound lane closures on the Exit 36/I-195 spur from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for sign installations.
Expect slowdown around mile marker 25 in Kennebunk all week as culvert cleaning operations will be conducted from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on all ramps at the Exit 25 Interchange.
In Ogunquit, a northbound lane closure will slow traffic from 6 p.m. to midnight for bridge construction at mile marker 13.8 on Monday. Starting Tuesday and running through Thursday, northbound and southbound lane closures will run from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for bridge construction at mile marker 13.8.
Because of the work in Ogunquit, the speed limit in this area will be reduced to 50 mph starting Monday.
