OGUNQUIT — The Friends of the Ogunquit Heritage Museum will be holding their annual fundraiser for the Ogunquit Heritage Museum from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday Sept. 24 in Ogunquit.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend, its is not just for members.
This the organization is hosting “Dinner and a Chance” at Jonathan’s. The cost is $40 per person.
The “Dinner” part is a buffet, dessert and coffee and there will be a cash bar. The “Chance” part is a raffle with $2 tickets or a book of 5 for $10.
Prizes include a Norman West painting, a handmade Irish chain quilt, a dozen lobsters, a wine basket and much more. There will also be a silent auction of various artwork donated by local artists.
Live music will be provided by Sea Smoke.
The real chance is to help the Friends expand their educational programs for the Heritage Museum.
Last year the Friends hosted a talk given by our own local Native Americans about their traditional ways, medicinal herbs, and herbal remedies. The Museum would like to host more lectures and possibly develop a children’s program in addition to funding the museum exhibits.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
