
“The President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14 in the Biddeford Middle School Performing Arts Center during a free concert sponsored by the Biddeford Middle School Music Program and the Journal Tribune.
Concert seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and free tickets are available (limit four per request) by visiting https://marineband.ticketleap.com/usmbtourbiddeford/
Ticket holders must be seated by 6:45 p.m. on the evening of the concert; as non-ticket holders will be admitted at that time.
The Marine Band is America’s oldest continuously active professional musical organization. Founded in 1798, the band has performed for every U.S. President since John Adams.
Those attaending the Biddfeord concert will be able to hear performances of “The Stars and Stripes Forever” and “The Fairest of the Fair” by John Philip Sousa, a tribute to Louis Armstrong (featuring trumpet soloist Master Sgt. Daniel Orban, “Dances from Estancia” by Alberto Ginastera, a medley of Armed Forces service songs and a “Pride of a People,” a patriotic song medley featuring baritone vocalist Master Sgt. Kevin Bennear.
